The West Coast Ukulele Retreat. If you miss that Summer Camp feeling…

We had a ball at the West Coast Ukulele Retreat last month.  “Old Folks Gone Wild” it was dubbed by the youngest in attendance.

Skits, hijinks and some serious playing and teaching make for a fun weekend of growth and connection.

Here are three of my students from a stage fright and performance class busting through by performing an improvised rhyme song.

"Oh MY... Did I really just sing THAT?"

What a great way to start off the summer!

NOW WHAT?!

For grown-ups in LA: Join us at the Music Center for a UKEALONG on July 5th!  Daniel Ward and I are thrilled to be included as instructors at this fantastic event!  Players with at least beginner skills get together for workshops and playing in a great program designed to take you to the next level of playing in a social atmosphere.  Sign up online till June 30th (but if you really want to come you might sign up earlier, as registration will close when capacity is reached)  The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will be celebrating it’s 50th anniversary and the ukers will take over the beautiful second floor lobby space.  This is a great way to experience the glory of a beautiful building, participate in community music and take advantage of  top-level instruction at a bargain price! ($10 for one day, $25 for three.  Check out the website for more info!)
